Cannot change display resolution windows 10 – none:.I can’t change the screen resolution in Windows 10
My desktop computer allows me to run Windows 8. This computer ran Windows 8 and later 8. The display for Windows 8. When I began, as an Insider, running builds of Windows 10 on a hard drive in my desktop computer, the screen resolution was x Recommended , which was wrong.
After a while, a build was issued that corrected the resolution problem by setting the resolution to x Recommended , and all was fine for a while. Somewhere around the time of Build or shortly thereafter, Microsoft mistakenly set the resolution back to x I’ve sent many feedbacks complaining about the resolution problem, but nothing has been done to correct it yet.
Today, I spent a large amount of time on the phone trying to contact someone at Microsoft who could get the resolution problem fixed. The experience involved talking to a couple people who could do nothing, one of whom barely understood the issue, and having my calls dropped a couple times. Finally, I was given a phone number to call with the promise whomever answered would fix the resolution problem.
Well, that call quickly led to being put on hold while I was bombarded with hype about the wonders of Windows Even that line was dropped once. So, I’m getting nowhere trying to get my resolution problem corrected. Anyone having any ideas about how to get through to someone at Microsoft who can correct my resolution problem please don’t hesitate to respond. I promise I won’t put you on hold. So after days of occasionally speaking with some no-nothing Microsoft representative, then supposedly being switched to someone who supposedly could help me, but then actually being put on hold forever with Windows 10 advertisements, I was able to schedule a callback this morning that was to occur FOUR HOURS LATER!
Well, those four hours came and went and hours more before I got a call from a guy who sounded as though he could help me. We went through all the steps of letting him take control of my computer, I told him stuff and answered many questions, and the guy began poking around my computer trying to solve my wrong-resolution problem. Actually, I believe the problem is in Windows 10 because the resolution was first wrong, then corrected, and then made wrong again. He also rebooted my computer a couple times, and then, after apparently making a new setting, rebooted again.
Now silly me, I thought the guy would call me back inasmuch as Microsoft has my phone number, but noooooo. Nobody has called nor e-mailed me. At this point, I think it’s time to give up with Windows 10 until the next major update and after the huge number of calls to Microsoft about issues with Windows 10 subsides.
Oddly, the much maligned Windows 8 worked for me the first time like a Zippo lighter and has continued to work through the Windows 8. Apparently, the Insider program isn’t working as well as Microsoft would like us to believe. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. I didn’t find anything indicating driver status. I searched for driver status but didn’t find anything useful. You’ll need to be more specific, using the actual names used in Windows Based on past experience with Windows 10, it seems to me Microsoft must supply the proper software to support an HP S wide-screen monitor.
They did it before for Windows 10, are currently doing it for Windows 8. It is not the responsibility of Microsoft to provide software that should be generated by the manufacture for the device they want to attach a system.
