Zoom has become quite an official application to hold meetings, perform video conferencing, and several other functions online.
Well, this is a minor bug that you can solve by applying the fixes discussed in this post. Having this tool ensures that you can use your device to its fullest capacity. The failed audio setup connectivity, corrupt or not permitted to access the microphone, corrupt Audio driver, etc.
Sometimes, the faulty app installation or persistent sound issue may also cause the Zoom App Audio not to work on Windows 11 or 10 PC. To solve this issue, you may try the following tweaks — Reset the Audio Settings, Use a different microphone, Perform sound Troubleshooter, and update the sound driver. If none helps, try uninstalling then re-installing the Zoom App itself. Download DriverFix to find and fix any driver-related issues on Windows.
If you’re still having problems, try restarting your computer. If that doesn’t solve it, check if there are any software updates for your computer. Zoom says my connection is unstable: Unfortunatly this happens from time to time. This is a local connection problem so the first thing is to check your Wi-Fi connection or wired connection.
It’s worth running a speed test – just Google speed test and you’ll get the option to run a quick test where you can see if there really is a speed problem.
If you’re using Wi-Fi, see if you can plug into a wired connection instead, as it’s likely to be more stable than Wi-Fi, or move closer to your router. This is definitely worth doing if you always have a connection problem on Zoom. If it’s a one-off problem, there’s likely nothing you can do about it except wait for the problem to pass – you could try stopping all other activity on your connection to let Zoom have all the bandwidth available.
Check you’re not muted: When you join a Zoom meeting you’ll normally have to click to activate the microphone, because you’re muted. Look for the microphone icon in the bottom left hand corner, if it’s crossed out, click it to unmute your microphone. If you’re on the mobile app, you’ll have to “join with audio” to be able to speak or hear sound.
If using an external microphone: Many external mics have they own mute feature – make sure the mic itself isn’t muted. Check your Bluetooth connection: If you join a call and no one can hear you, check you’re not connected to a Bluetooth headset elsewhere in the house. It might be that an existing connection has claimed your audio.
Or, if you want to use a Bluetooth headset, make sure it’s properly connected to the device running Zoom. Check the audio source in Zoom: If you’re in a call and no one can hear you, you can click on the up arrow to expand the audio button in the Zoom app. Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to hear what the speaker or other participants are saying during a Zoom call.
There are several causes for Zoom audio issues, which range from software bugs and Zoom microphone issues to an outdated Zoom app and problems with your headphones or computer audio. These settings allow you to join the Zoom call with your video and audio automatically enabled.
Try leaving the Zoom meeting and joining again, but this time leave the audio and video settings unchecked. You can select any or all these options to give Zoom authorization to use your microphone, and then check if the audio works again. Sometimes the problem may not be Zoom but your computer or mobile device. Here are some troubleshooting steps to try.
Disconnect any audio device connected to your computer such as a Bluetooth speaker or Bluetooth headsets. If so, disconnect Bluetooth and the Bluetooth audio device from your computer and check whether the audio works again.
